650,000 Downloads: The State of The Elite Recruiter Podcast

The Elite Recruiter Podcast just crossed 650,000 all-time audio downloads.

That's Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and every other podcast app, and it doesn't include YouTube. Add that in and the picture gets bigger: another 359,000 views on the channel.

Here's a stat that made me smile: 359 published episodes, 359,000 YouTube views. A thousand views per episode, on the platform that was always the side door.

I want to mark this moment, because I remember recording episode one in January 2021 and wondering if anyone would listen at all.

Behind every one of those numbers is a recruiter on a commute, between client calls, or grinding through a sourcing session, trying to get better at this job. That's who this show has always been for, whether they listen or watch.

What 359 episodes taught me

The podcast started with a simple idea: get the best recruiters in the world to explain, specifically, what they actually do. Not theory. Not motivation. The real mechanics of big desks and well-run firms.

359 episodes later, the pattern is impossible to miss. The recruiters billing the most are not the ones with secret tricks. They're the ones with standards. They make the calls. They protect their peak hours. They treat their desk like a business. And lately, they're the ones using AI to buy back time without letting it replace the human part of the job, the part where trust gets built and deals get closed.

Every guest says it differently. Almost nobody contradicts it.

Why the show grew

No ads budget. No growth hacks. The show grew because recruiters shared it with other recruiters, and because guests kept it honest. My only real job has been asking the questions a working recruiter would ask, then getting out of the way.
