During one of the most difficult periods of her life, Kimberly Laipple was facing foreclosure while learning the executive search business.
Her greatest fear was not simply losing her home.
She feared that the people who believed she had ruined her life might be right. She questioned whether she was capable of rebuilding, whether she would ever become successful, and whether the damage could truly be repaired.
She also worried about the lesson her daughters were receiving.
They had witnessed her work hard. They understood persistence and knew what refusing to quit looked like. But Kimberly wanted them to see more than the struggle; she wanted them to eventually see that something beautiful could exist on the other side of it.
That is one of the hardest parts of perseverance: continuing to move forward before the outcome proves that your effort was worthwhile.
Success stories often sound inevitable in hindsight. While living through them, they rarely feel that way.
