A recruiter’s job is not to convince someone to take the job.
It is to give them enough information to make the right decision for themselves.
Dan Lambert explains why he prioritizes long-term placements over simply closing the deal. His approach is simple: be transparent, share the facts, and trust candidates to decide what is best for their lives.
He even tells candidates throughout the process:
“You can say no to me.”
Because at the end of the day, the recruiter goes back to work tomorrow. The candidate is the one whose life changes.
A placement is only successful if the person taking the job is genuinely happy with the decision.
